The Way Of Our Ancestors - Steinway & Sons Art Case Piano
Steinway & Sons, Tom Lee Music and The British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities have joined forces to create a new fundraising art project in the form of a Steinway concert grand piano decorated by BC Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield.
The piano, named "The Way of Our Ancestors - Welh timás ta swa7ámchet", features a breathtaking design created by acclaimed North Vancouver artist Broomfield who weaves together five traditional symbols - the thunderbird, salmon, ocean, sacred eye and humanity - to depict his culture. The result is a unique Art Case Collection piano and the first to celebrate the powerful art of the Coast Salish Nation on a Steinway & Sons Piano.
